Sexy for Summer !! #FitnessFriday

Hey loves,
So a bit of sunshine is starting to show itself in this glorious British weather..You know what that means right? SUMMER TIME IS ROUND THE CORNER AND YOU NEED TO GET YOUR A$$ IN THE GYM lol !

Everything tends to feel better when the sun is out..In order to feel good you need to look good too.
Plus this is the time we hear boys rave onnn about "these goddesses in their maxi dresses". That being said, No more hiding your imperfections under your big Topshop boyfriend coat . It's time to get to work !!!

Here are a few tips to kick start your fitness and get in shape in time for summer.

REMEMBER your body won't go from Precious to Miracle Watts in the space of two months . That's why it's important to love the body you're in regardless and work towards making it better. It's a process that is achieved through hard work and determination !!

1) IT'S ALL ABOUT WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR MOUTH
- Cut down on the refined sugars e.g. fizzy drinks, refined foods e.g. crisps
- Drink at least two litres of water a day
- Eat smaller portions. Eat regular small meals a day so that your metabolism does not slow down.
- Eat lots of proteins e.g Fish, vegetables  and Good carbs e.g. brown rice, sweet potatoes..


2) SAY NO TO LONG HOURS OF CARDIO

Spending long hours of cardio is pretty boring and no where as effective as HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING. Have you heard about Tabata runs? Basically you sprint at full speed for about 30 seconds and rest for 10 seconds then start sprinting for another 30 seconds..do this 8 times . This really gets your heart rate going and your body still burns calories even when you are not exercising.


3) LIFT HEAVY WEIGHTS
Lots of women are under the perception that lifting heavy weights will make them bulky like men. Nope..not true, we don't have as much testosterone as men so that means we can't bulk up like they do.
Lifting heavy weights help women build lean muscle (eating proteins also help with building lean muscle). By building more muscles you are able to burn more calories :)
*Weighted Squats *DeadLifts *Bent Over rows *Weighted Lunges are my fave !!


4) SWITCH UP YOUR EXERCISES
Switch up your exercises about every two weeks because your body will get used to your workouts. So if you've been doing 15 reps of crunches, switch it up to 25.



5) ATTEND CLASSES












Classes are a great way to make working out interesting. Boxercise classes are a great way to let off some steam and tone up at the same time.
Spinning classes are also fun and great cardio. Gyms have loads of other classes BUT so does youtube..Check out this great Zumba workout>>>


6) HAVE A CHEAT DAY

Don't deprive yourself from the good stuff. You are very likely to binge if you don't have one day a week when you just eat what you like (don't take it too far..a tub of Ben and Jerrys will do.. not the whole of McDs lol !)



7) PLAN YOUR MEALS AND EXERCISES
...Because when you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail

8) LOVE YOUR BODY REGARDLESS
And last but not the least ...Love yourself regardless!! You're beautiful and simply working towards a better you.
